As of January 19, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have declined further week on week, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
Domestic PPGI prices declined in the first part of the past week, while they increased towards the end of the week, though average prices of PPGI are now lower compared to one week ago. Some traders have been unwilling to sell in expectation of higher prices. Currently, demand is slack in the local PPGI market amid the traditional winter off-season. It is thought that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the coming week.
