During the week ending June 14, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have moved on a declining trend, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at low levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, demand for PPGI in China has continued to be slack, influenced by the hot and rainy weather in southern China. Meanwhile, the rainy season is also approaching in eastern China, which will result in a further slackening of demand. However, iron ore prices have been fluctuating at high levels, providing support for PPGI prices. It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will continue to move on a soft trend in the coming week.
