During the week ending October 12, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have edged up, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
Following the long Chinese holiday, market participants in the local Chinese PPGI market have been getting on track by the end of the given week, resulting in medium transaction activities. However, demand has not improved as much as expected, though some medium and small-sized traders have been replenishing stocks for the future sales. It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will move sideways in the coming week.
