During the week ending January 25, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have continued their stable trend, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at low levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, some traders in the domestic PPGI market have started to exit the market ahead of the Chinese New Year holiday (February 2-10), while demand from downstream users has been slack due to the approach of the holiday. Most PPGI producers will start to halt production as of next week. It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will remain unchanged in the coming week.
