During the week ending July 7, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have indicated a rising trend for thick specifications, though remaining stable for thin specifications, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, consumption of inventory has provided support for the upward movement of domestic PPGI prices, with some specifications in short supply. However, amid the current traditional offseason and hot weather conditions, demand for PPGI has been characterized by instability. As for the coming week, it is thought that PPGI prices will move sideways and that transaction activity may slacken.
