During the week ending September 22, average Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have moved on a stable trend, while overall transaction activity in the market has been better than in the previous week and is now at medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, inventory levels of HDG in the spot market have been lower compared to before the Mid-Autumn Day Holiday (September 15-18) due to fewer supplies arriving in the market and improved transaction activities. The relatively high levels of ex-works prices of HDG supplies have provided support for the stable movement of HDG prices in the spot market. It is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely continue their stable trend in the coming week as the National Day Holiday (October 1-7) is approaching.
