Sources tell SteelOrbis that recent slab exports deals were closed with clients in the US in a price range of $470/mt to $480/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, stable from last week.

On a CFR basis, offers remain at $490/mt to $500/mt for ports in the US East coast, while for the US West coast the range remains at $500/mt to $510/mt CFR.

Sources mentioned that such offers remain included in the second quarter quota under Section 232 regulations; transactions under the quota are expected to be concluded in March.

According to volume totals exported during the first three weeks of February, the volume of slab exports for the full month are projected to show a decline from the 682,700 mt exported in January.
