Brazilian slab export prices decline week-on-week

Brazilian producers are negotiating the exports of slab in a range of $425/mt to $435/mt, against $430/mt to $435/mt last week, FOB conditions for the base commercial grades, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

The source added that for negotiations with US customers, starting in September, Brazilian producers maintain expectations to close deals in a range of $450/mt to $460/mt. Such deals are for deliveries to reach US ports in January, under US section 232 quota restrictions.

Meanwhile, producers remain focused on deals with clients in the EU, Latin America and Asia.
