The Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $800/mt against $810/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,750/mt ($1,976mt), stable in BRL from two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
According to the foreign trade authority, SECEX, Brazil exported 5,600 mt and imported 130,400 mt of HRC in March against 26,200 mt and 18,400 mt in February.
The exports of March were destined to South American countries (3,200 mt at $636/mt) and Mexico (2,400 mt at $826/mt), shipped by Usiminas (4,300 mt at $752/mt) and ArcelorMittal (1,300 mt at $598/mt), FOB conditions.
The imports came from Asia (124,200 mt, of which 84,000 mt at $521/mt from China) and Egypt (6,200 mt at $588/mt).
