The reference price for Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) exports is now $920/mt, against $900/mt three weeks ago, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference.
In December, Brazil exported 22,300 mt of HDG, while importing 16,800 mt of the product, against respectively 9,100 mt and 13,500 mt in November.
The main destinations of Brazilian export HDG in December were South America (12,400 mt at $692/mt) and the EU (9,500 mt at $519/mt), while a small volume was shipped to the US. The exporters were CSN (16,700 mt at $703/mt) and Usiminas (5,200 mt at $320/mt), while small volumes were shipped by traders and by ArcelorMittal.
The imports came chiefly from China (14,200 mt at $625/mt), Australia (1,000 mt at $468/mt) and South Korea (700 mt at $897/mt).
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers at BRL 5,281/mt ($983/mt) against BRL 5,094/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
