Brazilian producers are negotiating hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) for export in a price range of $1,030/mt FOB conditions, against $820/mt to $840/mt FOB two weeks ago, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference, a local source told SteelOrbis.
In August, Brazil exported 21,000 mt of HDG, of which 11,900 mt by ArcelorMittal at $668/mt, 7,200 mt by Usiminas at $993/mt, and 1,700 mt by CSN at $937/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in June.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is sold today by distributors, in small volumes, at BRL 4,900/mt ($1,188/mt), against BRL 5,050/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, having the Z-100, 1.11mm thickness product as reference. Larger volumes or direct sales by steel producers are usually entitled to discounts.
In August, Brazil imported 18,900 mt of HDG, of which 14,100 mt from China at $688/mt, 2,000 mt from South Korea at $838/mt, and 1,700 mt from Belgium at $981/mt, all FOB conditions.
The last offer of HDG received by a Brazilian importer from China was priced at $805/mt, against $800/mt two weeks ago, both CFR conditions to a port in the south or southeast coast of Brazil, with the Z100/SGCC grade as reference.
