Brazilian Galvalume exports should recover in November

“The Brazilian exports of Galvalume remain very low in October, should start to recover in November, returning to the usual levels of around 10,000mt per month in December,” a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

He mentioned that the exports of the product in August, a mere 300 mt, was due chiefly to a problem at one of the local plants, reducing the output available for exports, as the preference was ascribed to serve the local market.

“At least until December, Brazil will remain a net importer of Galvalume,” the source said, adding that imports of the product will gradually return to usual levels as the local offer is restored.

According to the source, the last Galvalume export deals were closed at $824/mt FOB conditions, around $40/mt less than the price negotiated three weeks ago.
