Brazilian producers are still negotiating Galvalume for export at $940/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis, adding that the reference price has remained stable since November 2017.

According to the source, an increased demand from the domestic market, linked to a recovery of the local economy and industrial activity, has resulted in producers giving priority to local sales, reducing the availability of material for export.

In the Brazilian domestic market, Galvalume is currently sold by distributors at BRL 4,720/mt ($1,469/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, with the AZ-150 grade as reference.

In December 2017, CSN exported Galvalume from Brazil at $928/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in October 2017. Also in December 2017, Brazil imported Galvalume from China at $651/mt, also FOB conditions.
