On April 20, SteelOrbis reported Brazilian CRC export offer prices down $5-10/mt from $600-610/mt FOB Brazilian port in mid-April to $595-600/mt FOB Brazilian port.

According to sources close to SteelOrbis, prices to a variety of customers including to the EU were heard at $580-600/mt FOB Brazilian port. The current price range has now widened, declining by $15/mt on the bottom of the range.

A source noted that the recent frequent fluctuations in the Chinese domestic and export markets have kept some suppliers from adjusting prices downward. Additionally, some markets serviced by the Brazilian steelmakers have established or are contemplating anti-dumping tariffs on Chinese CRC, thereby hopefully establishing Brazilian steelmakers as optional long-term alternatives
