The average export price of Brazilian slabs is $467/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.
This compares to $470/mt, under the same conditions, which was valid for the last six weeks, after six months ranging between $530/mt to $540/mt, until March 2025.
In August, Brazil exported 485,300 mt of slabs against 670,600 mt in July.
In August, Ternium exported 242,300 mt of slabs at $520/mt to the US, while ArcelorMittal Tubarão exported 99,700 mt at $506/mt to the US, 36,100 mt at $534/mt to the UK, 29,600 mt at $494/mt to Argentina, and ArcelorMittal Pecem shipped 68,400 mt at $519/mt to Mexico, and 9,200 mt at $511/mt to the US.
Total exports to the US amounted to 351,200 mt in August against 398,700 mt in July.
Meanwhile, Brazil imported 30,500 mt of slabs at $415/mt in August, also FOB conditions, a shipment from Japan to Usiminas.
