Prices for Chinese 0.012”x40.875” G30 hot dipped galvanized (HDG) and Indian 0.019x41.5625 Gr80/AZ55 Galvalume may have held steady in the past seven days, but prices for all other SteelOrbis-reported coated products have softened.
This is the second week in a row that China has shown willingness to negotiate prices as a means of enticing US buyers, and considering the price gap between offshore and domestic products, Chinese mills seem ready and willing to strike while the proverbial iron is still hot. Indian mills seem to be increasingly interested in getting in on that action since our last report a week ago, and their revised pricing shows they are interested in following that suit.
