Zhejiang issues implementation plan for carbon dioxide peaking in industry

The implementation plan for carbon dioxide peaking for industry in China’s Zhejiang Province has been issued, aiming to fully implement green and low-carbon upgrading at major iron and steel enterprises by 2025, with energy consumption and emissions to come in line advanced international levels, as announced by the Zhejiang provincial government. Moreover, Zhejiang Province aims to reduce blast furnace-based steelmaking capacity by 1.5 million mt, while ensuring that the scrap utilization rate exceeds 50 percent by 2025.
