Xinyu Steel breaks ground for 3 million mt cold rolled project

On December 18, 2008, Jiangxi-based Xinyu Steel mill held a ground-breaking ceremony for its cold rolled project which targets an annual production capacity of 3 million mt.

The first phase of Xinyu Steel's project is for a 1,550 mm cold rolled facility with a designed capacity of 1.2 million mt. This first phase will include a combined pickling and rolling unit (with annual capacity of 1.26 million mt), a continuous annealing unit (700,000 mt/year), two heavy coil units, and a semi-automatic bagging unit (one million mt/year).
