Wuhan in progress to restart CR mill

According to recent market news, China's Wuhan Steel Processing Co, a subsidiary of Wuhan Iron & Steel Co, is planning to restart its cold rolling mill at the end of the year. By the end of December, the annual production capacity is expected to reach 1.8 million tons. The mill had an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons, before its closure for renovation in late August. China Steel's new capacity will be supplied to China's automotive and household appliance sectors. Furthermore, Wuhan Iron & Steel Co. will procure additional hot rolled coil and raw material for cold rolled products to Wuhan Steel. Wuhan Iron & Steel produced 7.6 million tons of raw steel in 2002 and estimates to produce at least 8 million tons this year.
