WISCO’s silicon steel output tops one million mt so far in 2008

Approaching late November, north China's Hubei Province-based Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation (WISCO) has produced more than million mt of silicon steel for the current year, and has also increased its product range to include all grades of cold rolled silicon steel.

In 1978, WISCO introduced equipment for silicon steel production from abroad, with a designed capacity of just 70,000 mt. Since then, the mill has developed its product varieties and specifications from the original eight varieties and 32 specifications to the current 36 varieties and 150 specifications.
