On June 2, Hubei Province-based Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation (WISCO) announced an upward adjustment to its ex-factory prices for Q3 2008. The details are as follows:
1. Medium plate
The prices of common carbon plate, quality carbon plate, and low alloy plate have increased RMB 400/mt ($58/mt). After adjustment, the price of 14-20 mm Q235 medium plate is at RMB 6,120/mt ($884/mt).
2. HR coils
Prices have increased RMB 400/mt ($58/mt). After the changes, the price of 2.75 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 5,550/mt ($802/mt), while that of 5.5 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 5,440/mt ($786/mt).
3. CR coils
Prices have increased RMB 400/mt ($58/mt). Thus, the price of 1.0 mm Q195 CR coil is at RMB 6,230/mt ($900/mt), while the price of 1.0 mm Q195 cold rolled sheet is now at RMB 6,230/mt ($900/mt).
4. HDG
Prices have increased RMB 500/mt ($72/mt), with an additional hike of RMB 200/mt ($29/mt) for > 2.0 mm DX51D+Z, DX52D+Z, and DX53D+Z.
5. Silicon steel
Prices of non-oriented silicon steel of medium and low grade have increased RMB 300/mt ($43/mt), while those of high grade have seen a rise of RMB 500/mt ($72/mt).
6. Prices of the producer's other products have remained unchanged from June levels.
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of June 2, 2008.
