WISCO to build ferrosilicon production facility in Zhangye, Gansu

Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Group (WISCO) has signed a cooperation agreement with Zhangye municipal government in China's Gansu Province for the construction of a project which will have an annual output capacity of 100,000 mt of high-purity ferrosilicon.

The total investment in the project will amount to RMB 500 million ($82 million). Construction will be carried out in two phases, with the first phase to have an annual production capacity of 40,000 mt of high-purity ferrosilicon, and with a further annual capacity of 60,000 mt to be added in the second phase.
