WISCO spends RMB 626 million on fire safety overhauls at plants

Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) is spending RMB 626 million ($98 million) to increase fire safety at several of its plants, according to local newspaper Hubei Daily.
 
Plant No. 1 of WISCO's cold rolling complex, plant No. 3 of its steelmaking complex and plant No. 1 of its hot rolling complex were judged by local government authorities to be in need of overhauls in order to improve fire safety. So far, the relevant overhaul at plant No. 3 of WISCO's steelmaking complex has been completed, while overhaul work is continuing at the other two mentioned plants.
