WISCO issues ex-factory prices for February

SteelOrbis Shanghai On January 4, southeastern China's Hubei Province-based flats steelmaker Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation (WISCO) announced ex-factory product prices for February. The details are as follows: 1. HR coils Prices did not change. The price of 2.75 mm x 1,250 mm x C Q235 is still RMB 3,760/mt ($482/mt), while that of 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm x C Q235 is RMB 3,610/mt ($463/mt). 2. CR coils Prices increased RMB 100/mt ($13). As a result, the price of 1.0 mm Q195 CR sheet is now RMB 4,170/mt ($535/mt), while that of 1.0 mm Q195 CR coil has risen to RMB 4,120/mt ($528/mt). 3. Medium plate Prices did not change, and so 14-20 mm Q235 is still at RMB 3,610/mt ($463/mt). 4. Non-oriented silicon steel Prices of low grade increased RMB 100/mt ($13/mt). As a result, the new price of 50WW800 0.5mm is RMB 4,790/mt ($614/mt). Prices of high grade did not change, and so the price of 50WW470 0.5mm is still RMB 6,907/mt ($886/mt). 5. Oriented silicon steel Prices of 30Q140 grade increased RMB 300/mt ($38/mt). As a result, the price of 30Q140 0.3mm has risen to RMB 29,455/mt ($3,776/mt). 6. Galvanized coils Prices of WLZn, DX51D+Z, and DX52D+Z decreased RMB 150/mt ($19/mt). Following the adjustment, the price of JY150 WLZn 1.0mm is now RMB 4,733/mt ($607/mt). Prices of DX53D+Z decreased RMB 100/mt ($13/mt), with the price of DX53D+Z 1.0mm dropping to RMB 5,183/mt ($664/mt). 7. Section steel Prices increased RMB 80/mt ($10/mt). As a result, the price of 16# Q235 angle steel is now RMB 3,050/mt ($391/mt), while that of 25# Q235 I beam is RMB 2,990/mt ($383/mt). All the above prices exclude 17 percent value-added tax and are effective as of January 4, 2007 for the deliveries in April.
