Siemens Group Industrial Solutions and Services (I&S) has announced that it has received an order from the Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Group Corp (WISCO) for the delivery of a new five-stand coupled tandem pickling line No.3 with mechanical equipment, drive and automation systems and technological controls.

The order in question is worth around €25 million and the new plant is scheduled to go into operation in the spring of 2009. Previously, Siemens supplied important components to WISCO for two other tandem pickling lines.

With its new, third tandem pickling line, WISCO will enhance its annual production capacity by nearly two million mt. The new equipment in the cold rolling complex is designed for the production of various steel types from low carbon to high strength steel grades for the automotive industry.
