Wheeling-Pittsburgh implements further surcharge

Recent market news reveals that, Wheeling-Pittsburg Steel Corp has recently implemented a further surcharge of $12 per ton on shipments of all steel products to be in effect as of February 16, 2004. The company had previously implemented surcharge, however rise in cost of raw materials led to a further surcharge, an official from the company stated. With the recent surcharge, total surcharge has reached to $42 per ton. How long the surcharge will last depends on the costs of raw material, added the official.
