Wenfeng Group plans to invest in iron ore project in Chile

Hebei Province-based Chinese steel producer Wenfeng Industrial Group plans to invest about $205 million in an iron ore project and port project in Chile, marking the first significant attempt by a Chinese investor to invest in Chilean projects.

Matias Mori, executive vice-president of Chile's Foreign Investment Committee, stated that the committee is reviewing the application submitted by Wenfeng Group.
 
Mr. Mori also stated that Chile hopes to attract more investments from Asia, and accordingly, he plans to visit China, Malaysia and Japan next month.
