Voestalpine completes new blast furnace under “Linz 2010”

According to the statement released by Austrian firm Voestalpine AG, the first stage of Linz 2010 has been completed. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, Voestalpine AG established a new HDG line, a new coating line and a new continuous casting plant under the scope of “Linz 2010” program. These lines constitute the first stage of “Linz 2010” program. The company on 26 October completed the new blast furnace A, which also marks the completion of the first stage of “Linz 2010” program. The completion of the blast furnace took 105 days and the company invested €275 million in the blast furnace. On the other hand, for the completion of the first stage of “Linz 2010” program, the company invested a total of €1 billion. The second part of “Linz 2010” program is expected to be completed by 2007.
