In August this year, Vietnam’s steel imports amounted to 1,287,420 mt, up 18.2 percent compared to July, while its scrap imports increased by 43.1 percent month on month to 310,364 mt, according to the data published by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
In the first eight months of the year, Vietnam’s steel imports decreased by 3.3 percent year on year to 7.93 million mt, while its scrap import shipments amounted to 2.87 million mt in the given period, decreasing by 6.9 percent year on year.
