In May this year, Vietnam’s steel imports amounted to 837,622 mt, down 18.9 percent compared to April, while its scrap imports declined by 49.4 percent month on month to 301,884 mt, according to the data published by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
In the first five months of the year, Vietnam’s steel imports decreased by 12.4 percent year on year to 4.60 million mt, while its scrap import shipments amounted to 2.14 million mt in the given period, rising by 8.3 percent year on year.
