Vietnam ups export duty for semis

The Vietnamese Ministry of Finance has announced its decision to increase the export tax rate for some non-alloy semi-finished products.

According to ministry decision No. 64/2008/QD, export tax rates for semis falling under the subgroups 7204 50 000 and under groups 7206 and 7207 are increased from 10 percent to 20 percent.

The new tax rates are effective as of August 10, 2008.
