Vega do Sul initiates operations in galvanizing line

Arcelor subsidiary Vega do Sul, rolling mill in south Brazil, will initiate operations, after receiving an environmental licence from the Santa Catarina state government. Furthermore, the mill processes cold rolled coils at its galvanizing line for the automotive industry. Brazil's Companhia Siderurgica de Tubaro (CST) will provide hot rolled coils to Vega do Sul for processing, after its cold rolled and pickling lines opening in September. Vega do Sul is aiming to process 100'000 tons of pickled, cold rolled and galvanized steel in 2003, 420'000 tons in 2004 and a full pace of 880'000 tons in 2005.
