Hunan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Valin Xiangtan Steel (Valin Xiangtan Steel) plans to implement a premium large round bar and flat steel production line project, as announced by its parent company Hunan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Valin Steel. The project investment is expected to amount to RMB 880 million ($127.5 million), with a construction period of approximately 13 months and a designed annual production capacity of 800,000 mt.
Valin Steel stated that the project will concentrate on high-end bar and flat steel, conforming to national policy imperatives for advancing high-end special steel R&D. It will strategically focus on high value-added varieties, including gear steel and bearing steel, aiming to develop critical steel materials for high-end equipment and equipment renewal and upgrading.
