Vale's iron ore exports up 14.4 percent in April

In April this year, Brazilian miner Vale's iron ore export volume totaled 21.95 million mt, increasing by 14.44 percent year on year, according to Brazil's National Union of the Industry of Extraction of Iron and Base Metals (Sinferbase). In the first four months of the current year, Vale's iron ore exports increased by 10.01 percent year on year to 88.64 million metric tons.
 
Meanwhile, in April this year Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market amounted to 1.34 million mt, decreasing slightly by 0.15 percent year on year. In the first four months of this year, Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market totaled 4.89 million mt, down 4.4 percent year on year.
