Brazilian slab producer Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecem (CSP), a joint venture between Vale, Posco and Dongkuk, has named a new CEO, the company said on Friday.

Claudio Bastos was named the company’s CEO, effectively on Thursday, February 1.

Bastos has been a Vale’s executive for the past 15 years, assuming different roles, including financial director at Vale Indonesia and Vale Singapore and CEO at Peru’s Compania Minera Misky Mayo.

The new CEO replaces former executive Eduardo Parente, who resigned from the CEO seat, but will take a position at the company’s administration council.
