Uzmetkombinat to keep 2010 steel output close to previous year’s levels

In 2010, Uzbekistan's largest steel producer Uzmetkombinat expects to produce 710,000 mt of crude steel, while it is targeting a rolled steel output of 690,000 mt, including 550,000 mt of long steel products.

Meanwhile, Uzmetkombinat's steel product exports in 2010 are expected to amount to 320,000 mt compared to 317,800 mt in 2009.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in 2009 Uzmetkombinat increased its crude steel production by 6.2 percent year on year to 716,400 mt and upped its rolled product output by 5.7 percent to 687,100 mt, including 545,600 mt of longs - up 8.3 percent, all compared to 2008.
