Uzbekistan’s Uzmetkombinat increases steel output in H1

Uzbekistan-based steel producer Uzmetkombinat has announced that in the first half of this year it registered an 8.3 percent year-on-year increase in its crude steel output to 373,100 mt.
 
Meanwhile, during the period in question, Uzmetkombinat's rolled steel products output went up by 8.2 percent to 357,200 mt, with its steel grinding balls output increasing by 18.1 percent to 86,100 mt, both compared to H1 2009.
 
In 2010, Uzmetkombinat reportedly plans to produce 697,000 mt of crude steel, 667,800 mt of rolled steel products, and 167,000 mt of steel grinding balls. In 2009, Uzmetkombinat increased its crude steel production by 6.2 percent year on year to 716,400 mt and its rolled products output by 5.7 percent to 687,100 mt. The grinding balls production amounted to 158,400 mt.
