Uzbekistan sees rise in steel output

Uzbekistan's crude steel output rose 6.2 percent year on year to 525'675 metric tons in the first ten months of the year. Finished steel output also increased 9.3 percent year on year to 491'712 metric tons during the same period. Uzbekistan produced 602'160 metric tons of crude steel in 2004, up 24 percent from a year earlier. In addition, finished steel output rose 23 percent year on year to 550'670 metric tons in 2004.
