The US Department of Commerce announced last week that due to the “extraordinarily complicated” nature of the investigations it will postpone the preliminary determinations for the CRC antidumping case against Brazil, India, Japan, Korea, Russia and the UK and the HRC case against Australia, Brazil, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Turkey and the UK.

Additional time is reportedly required to analyze questionnaire responses and issue appropriate requests for clarification and additional information. Steel producers named in both cases are cooperating.

Preliminary determinations for CRC will be extended by 50 days, to Feb. 23, 2016. The ruling for HRC will also be extended to March 8, 2016. The deadline for final determinations in both cases will be extended by 75 days, unless postponed at a later date.
