US Steel’s Edgar Thompson mill temporarily closed

United States Steel Corp's (US Steel) Edgar Thompson mill was shut down yesterday due to a molten steel spill. According to the statement made by the company, no one was injured and the one-day closure will not have a significant effect on production. Spokesman of the company John Amstrong stated that the incident occured as the gate that controls the flow of steel failed and the steel spilled on the floor of the plant.
