US Steel to present new offer to Lake Erie workers

Monday, 26 August 2013 01:45:23 (GMT+3)   |   San Diego

In a note posted on USW's Local 8782 website, the union said that a tentative offer will be unveiled in the coming week, but negotiators for union workers at the Lake Erie flat rolled mill are not recommending that members accept the deal. The vote will take place on Friday, August 30.

The last proposal offered by US Steel at the end of July was rejected by over 70 percent of the union, continuing a lockout that has lasted about four months now.
