US Steel to close yet another facility

Following Wednesday’s announcement that US Steel would close its Illinois coke plant, the company announced Thursday that it plans to temporarily  close its East Chicago, Indiana tin mill, which will displace more than 350 workers.

According to the company, the layoffs will commence in mid-March, but no indication was given for when the plant would reopen.
