US rig counts unchanged as Canadian rig counts surge

According to the latest report by Baker Hughes, for the week ending January 6, the Canadian rig count increased by 140 to 361 rigs and was down 61 year-on-year.

The US rig count remained unchanged in the week ending January 6, holding steady at 2,007. Oil rigs fell by two last week to 1,191 and were up 414 rigs from the same week a year ago, while gas rigs increased by two to 811, and were down 103 rigs year-on-year.
