US new home sales rise 7 percent in June

Sales of new single‐family houses in June 2019 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 646,000, according to estimates released jointly today by the US Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is 7.0 percent (±15.2 percent) above the revised May rate of 604,000 and is 4.5 percent (±21.8 percent) above the June 2018 estimate of 618,000. 

The median sales price of new houses sold in June 2019 was $310,400. The average sales price was $368,600.

The seasonally‐adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of June was 338,000. This represents a supply of 6.3 months at the current sales rate.
