According to delayed final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of merchant bar totaled 10,930 mt in November 2018, up 68.2 percent from October. By value, merchant bar imports totaled $7.0 million in November 2018, compared to $4.3 million in the previous month.
The US imported the most merchant bar from Mexico in November, with 9,044 mt, compared to 4,693 mt in October. Other top sources of imported merchant bar in November include Canada, with 1,220 mt.
