On Thursday, the US International Trade Commission made its final determination in the second sunset review of the antidumping orders against steel concrete reinforcing bars from Belarus, China, Indonesia, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine.

The ITC made affirmative determinations with respect to all countries that revocation of the orders would be likely to lead to the continuation or recurrence of injury to the domestic industry.

The votes were divided:

(a)  Belarus -- 5 affirmative; 1 negative
(b)  China -- 6 affirmative; 0 negative
(c)  Indonesia -- 4 affirmative; 2 negative
(d)  Latvia -- 4 affirmative; 2 negative
(e)  Moldova -- 5 affirmative; 1 negative
(f)  Poland -- 4 affirmative; 2 negative
(g)  Ukraine -- 5 affirmative; 1 negative

Previously, the US Department of Commerce also made affirmative determinations in its sunset review of these orders, finding that revocation of the orders would be likely to lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping.

Accordingly, the antidumping orders against rebar from Belarus, China, Indonesia, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine will be continued.  The next sunset review will be initiated in five years.
