The US International Trade Commission (ITC) announced its decision regarding the sunset reviews concerning
stainless steel
wire rod from
Brazil,
France, and
India.
On July 1, 2005, the ITC instituted five-year reviews (“sunset”) concerning the antidumping duty orders on imports of
stainless steel
wire rod from
Brazil,
France, and
India.
ITC used the sunset reviews to determine whether the revocation of the orders would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
As a result of these reviews, the ITC determined that revocation of the existing antidumping duty order on
stainless steel
wire rod from
India would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
On the other hand, the ITC determined that revocation of the existing antidumping duty orders on imports of
stainless steel
wire rod from
Brazil and
France would not likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
Accordingly, the existing order on imports of
stainless steel
wire rod from
India will remain in place. On the other hand, the existing duty orders on imports of
stainless steel
wire rod from
Brazil and
France will be revoked.
