US ITC determination on certain steel sheets from Japan
On July 1, 2005, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) instituted a five-year review (“sunset”) concerning the antidumping duty order on imports of tin- and chromium-coated steel sheet from Japan. ITC used the sunset review to determine whether the revocation of the existing antidumping duty order on subject merchandise from Japan would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries. As a result of the voting conducted yesterday, the ITC determined that revocation of the existing antidumping duty order on imports of tin- and chromium-coated steel sheet from Japan would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries. Accordingly, the existing order on imports of tin- and chromium-coated steel sheet from Japan will remain in place. The duty rates are as follows:
