The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the preliminary results of the countervailing duty (CVD) administrative review of certain cut-to-length carbon-quality steel plate (CTL plate) from South Korea for the period of review (POR) between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024.

The DOC has preliminarily determined that countervailable subsidies were provided to mandatory respondents Dongkuk Steel Mill Co., Ltd. and Hyundai Steel Company, producers and exporters of the subject merchandise. The DOC has assigned preliminary net countervailable subsidy rates of 1.89 percent for Dongkuk Steel Mill Co., Ltd. and 1.39 percent for Hyundai Steel Company.

In addition, the DOC has rescinded this review in part with respect to Daeik Eng Co., Ltd. and MAIKO International, after the domestic interested parties timely withdrew their requests for review of the two companies.
