US initiates AD investigations on tin mill products from China, Taiwan, Turkey

The US Department of Commerce announced the initiation of antidumping duty investigations on imports of tin mill products from China, Taiwan, and Turkey to determine whether the merchandise is being sold in the US at less than fair value.

 The investigations were initiated in response to petitions filed on April 9, 2026 by US Steel Corporation and the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union.

Petitioners allege estimated dumping margins of 202.02 percent to 1,077.08 percent for China, 152.15 percent to 160.37 percent for Taiwan, and 190.95 percent to 192.91 percent for Turkey. The period of investigation for China is January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025, and the period for Taiwan and Turkey is April 1, 2025 through March 31, 2026.

The merchandise covered by the investigations is classified under HTSUS subheadings 7210.11.0000, 7210.12.0000, 7210.50.0020, 7210.50.0090, 7212.10.0000, and 7212.50.0000 if of non-alloy steel, and under 7225.99.0090 and 7226.99.0180 if of alloy steel.

Commerce is conducting a concurrent countervailing duty investigation on tin mill products from China.
